What is kart2car?

kart2car helps Karter's transition to road racing and obtain a competition race licenses. We often find that many karters want to make the transition or add to there racing experience and simply don't know how " many think the only path forward is race in Spec Miata and that's simply not the case. We work with multiple leagues and clubs and will assist in finding the best place to start your journey.

Who can join kart2car?

Anyone above the age of 14 in most cases with at least 2 years of Karting experience. There are some different state laws that apply such as New York but for the most part most clubs are happy to take on Karters as they normally do very well from the beginning and understand a racing program.

How do I get started?

To get started, you can simply contact us thru our contact page or speak to us at one of the Karting events that we attend. There is NO fee to simply reach out and ask some question. We are happy to do it.

What licenses do I need?

If you want to race with a club such as SCCA you will first need to get a Novice permit which will then be converted to a full competition License. This is done by attending a competition race program offered by the region such as South Jersey Region SCCA. Who's home track would be NJMP.

Is there an age limit?

As long as you maintain a competition license and are in good standing you can race at many events even worldwide. Not everyone gets a competition license to go pro" but having one opens up a host of racing options and events that you would not be eligible for.
