SCCA Competition Drivers School

March 13-15 Hosted by the WDCR - SCCA

So how many times have you said "I want to race" ? How long have you been saying "next year I am doing this" ?

Well, buckle up- because we're doing this.

Unlike a track day or an autocross event you need a Novice Permit to get started before you can convert to a full competition license. The Washington DC Region of the SCCA sponsors one of the absolute best-value racing schools at the beginning of the year, just ahead of the MARRS racing series.

This 2.5 Day program that combines classroom instruction with real on track time-and when we say on track, we mean on track. You're not watching from the sidelines. You're driving. And yes on Sunday you're racing .

We call it 2.5 days because while Saturday and Sunday are the primary classroom and on track sessions all participants are required to be at the track Friday evening for the written test and general event briefing. You can read all about it on our FAQ page, You can also find more information here

We strongly recommend reviewing everything carefully, as there is required paperwork-including a medical evaluation-that must be completed in advance.

And there's one very important question you may have forgotten in all the excitement:

What car are you driving?

Your HPDE or autocross car most likely will not meet the technical and safety requirements for wheel-to-wheel road racing. That means you'll either need to build a car -or rent one. If you choose to rent, we will take care of every single detail. You show up, learn, and drive. We handle the rest.

And if you think you'll have time to stand around-trust us, you won't.

An SCCA drivers school is the real deal. When you get home Sunday night, you'll be exhausted-but you'll remember this weekend for the rest of you life.
